This is the John Deere 3520 Wheeled Sugar Cane Harvester from Ertl, model number 45342.
This excellent model is manufactured in diecast metal and plastic, as well as moving rubber wheels.

It is made in 1/50 scale and measures more than 18 inches when fully extended. It is 4 inches wide and 8.25 inches tall at the top of the elevator.

The crop dividers are scrolled and angled, ensuring that the sugar cane doesn't get bent or damaged.

The base cutters and feed rollers spin smoothly.

The hydraulics on the boom arm work quite well. They are also stiff enough to pose in any position. There are also wires leading to the toppers.
Here is the nicely detailed topper. It features spinning blades and a hinge. This hinge ensures that as the arm moves up and down the topper remains level.
This excellent machine also features a rotating, high capacity elevator.

The main extractor hood pivots 180 degrees, and the secondary extractor hood pivots 360 degrees.

The cabin is well detailed, both inside and out. The windshield is curved for enhanced visibility and strength and has a windshield wiper. It also has High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting.

The interior has two seats, a steering column with gear and a control panel.

There are also ladders with tread and handrails on both sides of the cabin.

On the side you will find the innovative externally mounted muffler. This helps make the cooling system more effective and energy efficient.

There is also a bright red fire extinguisher mounted on the side just behind the cab. Safety first!

This exceptional model would make a unique addition to any farm collection. It would look also great on an O scale layout.
