This is the Caterpillar 336E H Hybrid Hydraulic Excavator made by
Norscot in 1/50 Scale.

Item #55279 is made mostly of diecast metal with only a few plastic parts.

This model replicates the first machine built by Caterpillar that uses patented and revolutionary hydraulic hybrid technology.

Let's explore this model's great features...

Starting at the front...this excavator has
a movable boom, stick and bucket.
It replicates the full motion of
the real machine.

The hydraulics move smoothly but are stiff enough to hold a nice pose.

Look at its reach! Why not pose this CAT
 in a demolition mode, maybe
 of an old grain silo?

On another note, the carbody rotates
a full 360 degrees on its chassis. Also,
the handrails are nicely modeled
along the steps and platform.

Now onto the operator's cab...

The windows are clear for easy viewing of the detailed interior.
See the authentic-looking operator's seat and controls?
How about the levers and joystick?

Wow, they really went into some great detail for the operator's cab.

Wait...Don't forget to look at the outside of the cab.
The exterior of the cab is decked out with grab rails, mirrors,
and even the windshield wiper is included in the casting.

From an aerial view, you can see the detailed hydraulic lines, non-slip tread on the platform and steps, engine housing, and exhaust  pipe.
The metal tracks move smoothly, especially if you have a rough terrain.

They also have a spring loaded tensioner that holds the tracks tight.

If you look really close, you can see the bolt detailing within the casting.

Last but not least, when looking at it from behind, you can see the CAT graphic detailing on the tail-end, sides, and boom.

With the boom extended, it measures 11 inches long, 3.5 inches tall,
and 2.5 inches wide.

Why not pose it in transport on top of a CAT lowboy trailer (item #55503)?

With such a wide variety of great characteristics, this Caterpillar 336 E H Hybrid
Hydraulic Excavator
, item #55279, from Norscot can be posed to
impress even the most selective of collectors.

See you again next week when we explore the features of  another great model!
