You know its summer when you hear the ice cream man! Welcome back to Details that Matter and thanks for kicking off the warmer weather with us as we look at Eligor’s Citroen Type H “La Maison des Glaces” Ice Cream Truck! This 1/43 scale model is a great way to get a running start into the new season. |

Designed as a simple front wheel drive delivery truck at the close of World War II, the Type H Van was a staple in Europe for many years and was used by all kinds of people (from policemen to the neighborhood ice cream man). Looking at the front of this model, you can see why this was called a Nez de Cochon (Pig Nose) in France during its heyday! Whether you focus on the vintage grill that guarded the 375cc engine or the modeled swiveling headlights that made this vehicle safer on winding roads, this miniature has replicated the look and feel of the Type H to perfection. |

And the advertisement on the outside of the workspace, literally translated to “The House of Ice Cream”, would greet the massing children just outside with an invitation to a tasty summer treat! |

While the Citroen Type H was used by police, this “Salad Basket” (as it was called) is obviously made up inside and out to dole out some tasty treats! Eligor showcases the ingenuity and excellence of their tooling by precisely replicating everything from the countertops to the translucent ice cream containers. |
 They have even given us a glimpse of the ice cream cones the Rocky Road ice cream would be scooped into…because who doesn’t like chocolate, right? |

It’s time for a double-take! The back of
this truck features a moveable rear hatch that opens to reveal
the incredibly detailed inside of this mobile ice cream shop. We
also get a look at the great decal stickers that clearly mark
this model as a house of ice cream! |
